Each year, the city gathers at the Gonzalo Hontorio Fairgrounds where the city’s finest horses are showcased.
The Horse Fair dates back over 500 years and each year the festival has a different theme. It is a celebration of Spain’s rural traditions.
There are also structures set up called casetas, which can be anything from a small stand to a larger tent. Each caseta is decorated with a theme and compete for a prize. Eating, drinking and flamenco dancing take place in the casetas.
